Byron School of Fashion - is it for you?
Yes, if you would you like to:
- set up your own Eco Fashion label or Eco Fashion product
- get an overview of sustainable fibres, fabrics and materials
- get an introduction into resourcing, reusing and remaking
- making informed choices when sourcing fabrics and trims for your Eco fashion range
- learn about the design process and creating a fashion range
- learn basic pattern making skills
- get help and guidance to create patterns for your own designed Eco fashion range
- learn to sew prototypes and toiles to confirm your master pattern.
- work and learn in a real life environment
Are there any tests or assessments?
No, there is no need for assessments or test. We are offering skill based, non-accredited courses with a practical, step by step approach. The goal is for you to design a fashion range, select fabrics and trims, create master pattern ready for sample production. We are here to teach, support, guide and give feedback so you can reach your goal.
Do I need to know how to sew?
Some basic sewing skills are recommended, you do not have to be a pro.
Will I get a certificate at the end?
Yes, for our 12 week Eco Fashion Enterprise you will receive a Certificate of Attainment from the Byron School of Fashion.
Can I attend this course if I’m still in High School?
Yes, as long as you are 15+ and your parents our legal guardians give you permission and enrol you. Our head trainer has a Bachelor of Education (Major in Fashion) and a current TAE40116 in Training and Assessment.
I’m not an Australian citizen or permanent resident can I enrol in your course?
Yes, as long as you have a visa that permits you to stay in the country for 3month+. Please note: this course is not fulfilling the student visa requirements. Please check your visa class requirements carefully before enrolment.
